I am Carlos Hernán Arango Botero, psychologist. I have spent twenty-seven years accompanying people through their processes —twenty-three of them online, which makes me one of the first to practice remote therapy in Spanish. I work from a psychoanalytic orientation: attentive to that which repeats itself without our knowing why, and to the word that, said at the right moment, opens.
I live traveling. I see clients and write from the villages of the world, in the language in which what is truly intimate gets said: Spanish. Over the years I have learned that listening needs no fixed place —only silence, time, and presence.
About this blog
El diván nómada —‘the nomad’s couch’— is where I set down what I am thinking: essays on the mind, the bond, and desire. Without haste, without formulas, and without promises. I write as I work —slowly, and inward.
I trained at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana and at the University of Navarra. Professional registration COLPSIC 171710.
